If you've been playing CityVille for a while, you know the importance of moving and deleting items. Moving decorations and organizing your buildings can earn you thousands of extra coins for very little energy. Unfortunately though, many people just aren't sure how to move or delete their items. This makes decorating and reorganizing your CityVille city a daunting task. Fortunately for you, moving and deleting items is extremely simple. Unlike other city building games like Millionaire City, CityVille lets you move items for free, no money, bots, or cheats required.
To move an item, building, decoration, or some other CityVille structure, simple click on the arrow or cursor button at the bottom right of the screen (pictured above). It can be found above the 'Build' button and left of the button that contains your Inventory, Collections, and Franchises.
Click the cursor button and a menu will open allowing you to either move, rotate, or sell an item. When you're done moving items, click the Stop icon where the cursor icon used to be. Simple.

CityVille: Sale on Winter Decorations - get them before they're gone
If you didn't take advantage of the many shopping opportunities presented to you in CityVille this past Holiday season, Zynga is giving you one final chance to stock up on those decorations before they leave the store (for good), and to help sweeten the deal, they've discounted the prices on all items - most to 50% off the original price.
Both premium and standard items are part of this sale, so you can also pick up a load of themed decorations for cheaper City Cash prices than you would have found upon their initial release. Items like the Bunny Slope and Sled Hill, which used to cost 45 and 30 City Cash (respectively), now go for 23 and 15 City Cash each.
Basic, non-animated decorations are also a part of this sale, including the Holiday Tree Lot, Giraffe Ice Sculpture, Snow Angel, and even the Penguin animal. While the Kids Building Snowman item is still a bit of a splurge, at 10,000 coins, this is a 50% reduction of its original price of 20,000 coins. And that's just one example of all of the coins that can be saved here - but only for a limited time.
Remember, with the addition of storage (no matter how limited) to CityVille, you could always purchase these items and store them away until next year, when you can enjoy them even more when thinking about how little you paid.
Do you plan on taking advantage of this sale to pick up reduced price items, or did you purchase all of these items back when they were full price? Do you think it's fair for Zynga to offer these items for cheaper now, rather than requiring everyone pay the same price or simply miss out?

Is rejection in FarmVille, Facebook games like getting dumped?
FarmVille rejection
Well, it's close enough. According to a recent study by Edward Smith, a cognitive neuroscientist at Columbia University in New York, being rejected in an online computer game could elicit "tepid feelings of rejection," Fox News reports. Though, the findings did help Smith find a link between romantic rejection and actual physical pain. Smith conducted a follow-up study using functional magnetic resonance imaging, or fMRI. But did it trigger a similar response?
This technology visualized the pain receptors in the brains of 40 volunteers when looking at photographs of partners they had broke it off with. As a result, the fMRI lit up like Christmas tree when folks looked at photos of old flames. So when a FarmVille friend removes you, it might not sting as badly--or just stir some Internet rage. Regardless, the brain could still respond the same way as when rejected by a lover, though to a lesser degree. The next time you remove a friend from CityVille, try letting them down easy, eh?

March Madness Facebook Game Showdown: Final Four
Upsets galore in the second round of our March Madness Facebook Game Showdown, just like in the real NCAA Basketball tournament.
In our quest to determine the best Facebook game, most of our match-ups have been cruising along without any major upsets. No longer! In the second round of our Showdown, things went haywire with several favorites finding themselves on the outs, including three of Zynga's most popular games.
Pet Society by Playfish continued its unlikely run as its fans backed it all the way through to the Final Four. Pet Society defeated Zynga Poker 57% to 43% in a close match-up. Pet Society has now defeated two higher seeded Zynga produced opponents in Cafe World and Zynga Poker.
In what is likely the biggest upset this side of VCU over Kansas, Treasure Isle defeated the heavily favored FarmVille. The two Zynga made games went head to head and in unbelievable turn of events, Treasure Isle squeaked by FarmVille 52% to 48%. Unreal, considering how much Games.com -- The Blog! readers favor FarmVille over all else.
The last in our upset trifecta is the defeat of staff favorite FrontierVille by Pop Cap's plucky arcade classic Bejeweled Blitz. In what has to be the triumph of the name brand, Bejeweled over the newer FrontierVille, Bejeweled Blitz won 54% to 45%.
Rounding out our final match up of the second round and last Final Four participant CityVille, the number one seed in the tournament defeated Mafia Wars. CityVille is the only top seeded game to advance to the Final Four trounced Mafia Wars handily 66% to 33%

CityVille Short Story Quest Line Contest offers 1,000 City Cash to creative writers
Do you have a passion for writing? Are you a huge CityVille fan? You can now combine your two loves in a new CityVille contest being thrown by Zynga over on the game's official forums. The contest is called the Short Story Quest Line Contest and it asks users to create a new quest line in the game. The quest line must fit the current CityVille theme, and users are encouraged to incorporate some of the game's current characters (Samantha, Ruth, Alexi and so on), in addition to creating some of their own.
The main point with this contest is to be creative. You can continue an old quest line in a sequel story, or you can do something totally original for the game. Don't worry about including the rewards for completing these goals - this contest is all about the "why?" Why does our character need help? Are they in trouble? Why should players want to help these characters achieve their current goals?
If you've got what it takes, you could see yourself walking away with the first place prize of 1,000 City Cash. Fear not, though, if you fail to take home the top prize, as the second and third place finishers will also win a fantastic sum of 500 and 250 City Cash each. For full details on how to enter the contest, check out the official submission thread. Good luck!

CityVille Ride the Rapids Timed Goal: Everything you need to know
A new timed goal has launched in CityVille, that sees Paul hoping to enjoy one last outing in the summer heat by taking a ride on the rapids. Of course, the goal is called "Ride the Rapids," and it comes with just a 24 hour time limit, if you're looking for the biggest (and best) prizes.
Before Paul can take off on his adventure, you'll need to help him prepare by gathering quite a few ingredients. Luckily, these three tasks do seem doable in the 24 hour time period, at least more so than others that require you to grow crops.
Get 8 Paddles
Visit 15 Unique Neighbors
Collect from 80 Businesses
It doesn't seem to matter how many businesses you collect from repeatedly, so if I were you, I'd simply collect from some of the least profitable businesses tons of time to reach the 80 businesses total quicker. As for the paddles, they're earned via a general news post on your wall that any of your friends can respond to.
If you complete these three tasks within 24 hours, you'll receive the Gold Trophy, 2,300 coins, 1,100 Goods and 48 XP. For finishing after the first 24 hours, but within 72 hours of starting this goal, you'll earn the Silver Trophy, 2,300 coins and 1,100 Goods, but no experience points. Finally, if you finish these tasks at any point after the first 72 hours have passed, you'll receive 1,100 Goods. Either way, you'll receive plenty of Goods to pay you back for the Goods you spent in completing these tasks, so it isn't all bad.
There doesn't look to be a time limit for how long you'll have to accept this goal, so feel free to finish some other projects in your city before tackling it, if it makes you feel better.
What do you think of the Ride the Rapids Timed Goal? Is it the easiest timed goal yet, or the hardest?

CityVille VIP Gift feature rewards you for sending your friends gifts
A new incentive program has launched in CityVille, that will attempt to have you send all of your CityVille neighbors a "VIP Gift" in exchange for earning something yourself. Instead of being met with the free gifts page or any other menu upon loading the game, you'll instead be shown this page from time to time, giving you options for your free prize. Unfortunately, if you receive items like these, it's unlikely to do any good.
For an example of the prizes offered, we need look no further than my own game, where I was offered two Plaza Flowers or two Parking Lots for sending out these VIP Gifts. When approached with something like this yourself, you'll need to simply click on the Send button under one of the two (as seen below) to send all friends a VIP Gift, and earn your own rewards as promised. As for these VIP Gifts that you're sending, it seems as though they are nothing but those rewards that you have been offered yourself. It's either that, or all of my friends suddenly decided to send me Plaza Flowers and Parking Lots as their free gifts today, as my inbox was full of them!
This all being said, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in the prizes offered. They're relatively inexpensive to purchase outright from the store, so why should I send out request after request to every friend that has ever played the game, knowing that many of them will be ignored, or that I risk annoying friends that have already quit playing, or have little use for these items? While that may be an over-complication of the situation, I guess it all boils down to wanting some exclusive items to make this worth our while. If Zynga decides to offer some, we'll make sure to let you know.
What do you think of this new VIP Gift feature? Sound off in the comments.

CityVille Crew Pack saves you time on staffing your buildings
Along with the new Zoning Permit Expansion Packs launched in CityVille over the weekend comes a new Crew Pack that serves a similar function. This Crew Pack costs 25 City Cash and will give you a 20 Crew Member bonus that stays on your account until all 20 crew members have been used.
So, how does this work exactly? It's simple: When you go to build any kind of structure that requires you to staff your building by asking your friends to help, these 20 bonus crew members will be put to work instead, saving you the time it takes to ask your friends to help you (and wait for them to respond), along with saving your friends from some annoyance if they're tired of being sent to many requests.
Is this Crew Pack worth 25 City Cash? I suppose if you have a very limited supply of in-game neighbors, it would be the saving grace for actually being able to finish some community buildings and the like, but I personally don't think I'll be investing in this particular shortcut. Why? Just look at all of these farm-themed goodies that are still begging to be purchased!
Whatever your opinion on these Crew Packs, they won't be available to purchase forever, but are only available for a "limited time." Unfortunately, Zynga hasn't announced when the actual expiration date is, so your best bet would be to stock up now if you're interested in using these bonus crew members, even at a later date.
Will you purchase any Crew Packs for future use in your buildings? Let us know in the comments.
