zynga 7 eleven event
With the epic kickoff event on June 1st, FarmVille, Mafia Wars and YoVille have invaded 7-Elevens all over the United States. The promotion includes game branded groceries, snacks, beverages and more. Once purchased, players can redeem the codes printed on the treats in return for valuable in-game cash and other limited edition items. Fans have been excited to get their hands on both the great looking snacks and the lucrative game rewards. Fortunately, yesterday, the kickoff event finally opened the flood gates.

Select 7-Elevens in New York, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Denver and Los Angeles hosted the event which included tons of free give aways and fun. Those who were lucky enough to attend found the event to be full of games, free merchandise, amusement park tickets, carnival gift cards and of course, loads of FarmVille, Mafia Wars and YoVIlle themed goodies.

FarmVille fan and donkey, Backpacking Brighty, snapped a few pics from the event in Dallas. In addition, FarmVille Freak asked readers who attended to send in images.

Mafia Wars: Earn a free Reward Point from Windows Phone

Similar to the Windows Phone promotion that recently took place in FarmVille, Zynga has launched a new Windows Phone promotion in Mafia Wars, allowing users to watch a series of very short videos advertising Windows Phones and then vote on your favorite.

Technically, you only have to watch one of the three videos, and then click the Vote button next to it in order to qualify for your free Reward Point. You'll know that you've received your prize when it says "You've earned your Reward Points" in the top right corner of the new window that appears.

Sure, this is only a single Reward Point, but it is free, and considering the high price of most premium items in Mafia Wars, it never hurts to boost your account balance, even if it is only by one.

March Madness Facebook Game Showdown: Final Four

Upsets galore in the second round of our March Madness Facebook Game Showdown, just like in the real NCAA Basketball tournament.

In our quest to determine the best Facebook game, most of our match-ups have been cruising along without any major upsets. No longer! In the second round of our Showdown, things went haywire with several favorites finding themselves on the outs, including three of Zynga's most popular games.
Pet Society by Playfish continued its unlikely run as its fans backed it all the way through to the Final Four. Pet Society defeated Zynga Poker 57% to 43% in a close match-up. Pet Society has now defeated two higher seeded Zynga produced opponents in Cafe World and Zynga Poker.

In what is likely the biggest upset this side of VCU over Kansas, Treasure Isle defeated the heavily favored FarmVille. The two Zynga made games went head to head and in unbelievable turn of events, Treasure Isle squeaked by FarmVille 52% to 48%. Unreal, considering how much Games.com -- The Blog! readers favor FarmVille over all else.

The last in our upset trifecta is the defeat of staff favorite FrontierVille by Pop Cap's plucky arcade classic Bejeweled Blitz. In what has to be the triumph of the name brand, Bejeweled over the newer FrontierVille, Bejeweled Blitz won 54% to 45%.

Rounding out our final match up of the second round and last Final Four participant CityVille, the number one seed in the tournament defeated Mafia Wars. CityVille is the only top seeded game to advance to the Final Four trounced Mafia Wars handily 66% to 33%

Here the Final Four match-ups for the March Madness Facebook Game Showdown:

Mafia Wars LIVE event will see your questions answered on camera

Ever submitted a question for the Mafia Wars team, but were afraid your voice wasn't heard? That can all change tomorrow, as Zynga has announced their first ever LIVE broadcast from within the Mafia Wars studio, where Community Manager "Blue Eyed Nate" and game designer "Crazy Dragon" will be on-hand (and on camera) not only talking about the future of the game (including currently unannounced new features), but will also be answering some user questions.

To be specific, Zynga is looking for questions to be submitted over on the game's official forums. Then, tomorrow, May 4, at 3:30 PM PST (that's 6:30 Eastern, for our friends on the east cost), the broadcast will be launched on UStream, apparently at this link (feel free to bookmark the page so you don't have to search for it later), and you may just see your question answered live in front of all of your fellow players!

Sure, there are likely to be many more questions asked than there will be time to answer them, but hey - this is your chance to talk to the folks behind Mafia Wars, so take the shot while you have it!

Will you tune into the first ever installment of Mafia Wars LIVE tomorrow?
